My Chloé satchel and a farting cat

I will answer everyones burning question first. Yes, that is a cat farting hearts on my finger. Nothing says kawaii than a cat, some hearts and some harmless body emissions. Well I do like getting in to the spirit of things, and crap all over your finger nails is apparently the cats pyjamas here. I do also plan on adding to this collage. Another day, another post…

Farting cats aside.

This is the debut of the new love of my life, my Chloé Marcie satchel. Something in me is drawn to saddle style cross body bags. I would like to put it down to my excellence and diligence at horse riding but we all know that just isn’t true. Perhaps it is because I have not yet reached the stage where I think I need a sleek and womanly handbag, in black. The tan is still young, the shape is still relaxed. I relate to Chloé’s ethos of effortlessly chic. Relaxed yes, but hiding somewhere in the floating silhouettes, feminine. But for now, as a youngin’, I can only be inspired by Clare Waight Keller’s collections.

This is also my attempt to geek up this beautiful Cue skirt (who knew it could be done?). A seemingly anxious, yet accidental, perfectly colour matched bag and shoes. Socks gingerly paired with sandals. Please, dear reader, now picture the anorak I initially had on before the sunshine won out, maps and tickets tucked into handy pockets and a camera swinging proudly from my neck.

Stay rad

Isobelle Carmody - Obernewtyn

Zara white shirt | Cue green geometric peplum skirt | Bauhuas earrings | Wittner wedges | Marc by Marc Jacobs watch

As this particular sunny Sunday held both an escape to the country for high tea and a mental escape seeing my favourite author at Writers Week, I felt it necessary to acknowledge the happy fact that I am an escapist. A daydreamer. A person well developed in the keen art of dissolving into a fantasy world courtesy of a book. I declare, along with dear miss Caroline Bingley, that there is no enjoyment like reading! And unlike those that claim there are many more important things taking up time in our lives today (I am looking at you computer), I will always come back to reading, whether after only a few hours, or hollow and shame faced after a more extended period of time.

Isobelle Carmody’s books have been with me for a long time now, helping to shape me, providing me with the north point for my moral compas, as only a book read from childhood can. I have entered the slipstream of the surreal, one of my favourite places on earth. And as the weather turns and I find myself in this benumbed state (relatively of course, since it really is still a fairly mild autumn) I reminisce on the stifling heat I was so keen to avoid! Nothing like viewing something from the other side…

But with a change of season comes a change in the fashuns. Tonight is the Rundle Mall A/W13 parades and so we can say summer is well and truly over.

Garden Bliss

Cameo top | Cameo cage skirt | cherri bellini wedges | Bauhaus spike necklace

I can’t help but be an Adelaide label fan girl. Of course, when labels like Cameo make such incredible, yet wearable clothes, it is inevitable. I practically wear this top 24/7 – see it again here. Dress it up or down it doesn’t matter – it always looks fab. And the skirt is, put simply, insanity. This cage skirt hits that point between outstanding architecture and being total kickass that whenever I wear it I feel at least 37% more awesome. I love neutral colour themes as well (okay so half my wardrobe is dedicated to white and beige, and the other half is black) so it’s a little bit of alright when the cut and design speaks for the outfit rather than a loud print. I mean – what exactly is it? How does one wear a cage as a skirt?

The answer my friends is LIKE A BOSS.

Casper & Pearl Secret Garden Party

C&Psecret garden photocupcakes cap girlrose petals cap girl 2

Such whimsy and adventure is evoked in just two words. Secret garden. A secret garden, encapsulating all the fancy a girl at heart can imagine. Last night Karibu Boutique played garden host for Adelaide label Casper & Pearl for their launch party  – a secret event in which to spoil us Adelaidians with all sorts of irresistible treats, including their brand spakin’ new Secret Garden A/W13 range. Rose petals littered surfaces, models were crowned in flowers and the faux grass got a work out from Adelaide’s fashion crowd as they perused the new collection before it hits stores later this month.

This is the brands first foray into a manufactured seasonal line, previously all handmade, to keep up with high demand. Stacey Hendrickson, the lovely lass behind the label, is only 20 years old and her designs reflect a carefree spirit inspired by vintage style. Feminine silhouettes are playfully paired with cheeky cut outs and flowing oversized cuts lend a childlike flair to very wearable shirts and dresses. Grab your sandals and dont be afraid of grass stains, we are off to make daisy chains!

Keep an eye out for this collection or jump on to their website casperandpearl.com.

Galactic Fantastic

Vintage jacket | Dress from a night market on Ebenzer Place | Wittner rose gold and tan shoes | cherri bellini clutch | Lovisa earrings | Marc by Marc Jacobs watch

Dude, nothin’ like a fabulous print. Nan’s wardrobe divulges another gem in this sun, moon and stars compilation sports jacket – with built in shoulder enhancers (*breathe*). Thrown back with a nature print mini dress with pleats and a leather look top – the colours and textures make me dream of space adventures. I have been watching videos of the meteor crashing into Russia. I am definitely feeling out of this world.
