Big things are happening in Rundle Mall. Rundle Place holds it’s official opening tonight, seeing the return of Harris Scarfe to its original location, along with over 70 national and international stores. The Mall’s $30 million dollar upgrade is also underway, changing the landscape of the mall, breathing new life into social spaces and bringing a much needed facelift to one of Adelaide’s most visited places.

With this in mind, the Rundle Mall A/W13 parades had some teasers from the new stores, most notably Adelaide’s first Ted Baker Store, championing bold prints and luxe textured fabric. Red wine colours, from raspberry to marrone, are in a big way and monochrome ensembles add depth and contrast to the regular wintery black on black. The high street is also really working the baroque trend; think lace, gold highlights, metallic, velvet and leather.

As the most visited attraction in Adelaide, Rundle Mall caters for a very diverse clientele, and it’s easy to forget this when thinking critically about fashion and styling. The looks were not over the top or pushing fashion boundaries, but they did encapsulate a meticulously styled and chic high street look. How we choose to wear it and add our personal flairs is up to ourselves. What styles will you be wearing this winter?
