Fashion Avenue S/S ’12

Colour pops, succulent prints and metallic bursts proved the style de jour at the Fashion Avenue parade. Fashion Avenue is one of the highlights on the Adelaide fashion calendar showcasing our most loved local brands and well-known national brands in the one catwalk. Held over the weekend, here is my edit of the best looks for Spring/Summer.

Standout was Australian brand Camilla with their tribal assault of colour, feathers and glamourzon neck pieces, winningly tying together billowing silhouettes and vibrant colour. Summer prints were a clear favourite amongst designers Cameo, Liso Ho, Gorman, Joveeba and Finders Keepers, using lush tropical colours and digitised prints. High waisted shorts and mini skirts proved that in Australia its all about sun-kissed legs, keeping it fresh with flirty cuts and interesting architecture. Show favourite Alex Perry provided the cherry on the cake with a deep red evening dress, embellished to perfection, proving why he is the master of superior evening wear.
